Michael Qing National Award Recipient

Special Olympics Saskatchewan announced this week, that Regina Optimist Dolphin
swimmer, Michael Qing has been selected as the 2008 Special Olympics Canada Male
Athlete of the Year.
Michael’s dedication to training and competition in the sport of swimming has proven to be the very successful with winning 4 silver medals at the 2007 Special Olympic World Summer Games; which has helped him earn this national award.
As recipient of this award, Michael is invited to attend the 2008 Special Olympics Canada Awards Banquet and Festival, which will be held in Toronto from December 2 to 4, 2008; however Michael will be unable to attend as he will be in Portugal competing at the International Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships. This competition takes place in Albufeira-Algarve Portugal from November 27th to December 4th, 2008.
Swim Saskatchewan congratulates Michael on his
achievements and for winning this National Award. In addition, we also wish you
good luck at the competition in Portugal and in your preparations leading up to
the competition.
